This ceramics course focuses on creating functional and/or sculptural forms using slab construction. Students will learn how to work with soft slabs, create their own templates, and explore different kinds of surface ornamentation. Projects will be introduced as functional forms but options to create sculptural or more complex objects will be discussed and up to individual preference. 

LOCATION AND PARKING: All programs are held at the MFAH’s Glassell School of Art, located at 5101 Montrose Blvd., unless otherwise specified in the course description. Paid parking is available in the MFAH’s garage, also located at 5101 Montrose Blvd. Students enrolling in full length studio or art history courses receive a parking voucher valid for the current session. Parking vouchers are not included in workshop enrollments.
