AW 450: Ceramics: Hand-Building to Complex Workshop

This ceramics workshop focuses on making simple shapes more complex using handbuilding techniques. Fundamentals of clay will be covered through hands-on exploration including pinching, soft slab, and coiling handbuilding techniques. The workshop will also do an introductory overview of glazing and other finishing techniques involved with creating functional ceramic objects as well as sculptural forms.
LOCATION AND PARKING: All programs are held at the MFAH’s Glassell School of Art, located at 5101 Montrose Blvd., unless otherwise specified in the course description. Paid parking is available in the MFAH’s garage, also located at 5101 Montrose Blvd. Students enrolling in full length studio or art history courses receive a parking voucher valid for the current session. Parking vouchers are not included in workshop enrollments.
